Derby County's former training ground, Ramarena, is set to be transformed into two cricket pitches. Rolls-Royce Submarines has submitted a planning application to Derby City Council to establish the new facilities. The former training ground has been derelict since Derby County left in the early 2000s and has been the subject of anti-social behaviour and fires. The relocation of Alvaston and Boulton Cricket Club, which plays matches within the Rolls-Royce site, is expected to create modern, high-quality facilities. The wider scheme will deliver significant economic benefits, including job creation, supply-chain growth, and investment in a nationally important defence project.
