Derby County are set for a 'decent' summer transfer window under manager John Eustace, who has done an incredible job of taking the club close to the play-offs. Eustace wants Derby to sign with intent and build on their excellent campaign, which saw them finish just one point above the relegation zone last season. The club are keen to sign Bobby Clark on a permanent deal this summer to help them achieve their ambitions of reaching the Premier League. Goodman said he was impressed by the progress that Derby have made just 12 months after they fought off relegation and expects them to be in the mix under Eustace who has proven what a good manager he is. 'They spent more minutes in the top six on the final day than their two other rivals for that final play-off spot, but when the final whistle blew, is when it mattered, and Hull took the honours,' he told Parimatch Casino. 'If you look back, I mentioned that I thought they would just miss out. When I said they would just miss out, I did not think it would be quite that close, to be honest, given the fixtures they had! 'I thought the final three or four games would be a tough stretch, but they came through them. When they earned that smash-and-grab win against QPR in the penultimate game, I actually thought that Derby might do it. Regardless of the final outcome, there should be immense pride because they have massively overachieved. John Eustace has done an incredible job of taking them so close. I do not think a play-off spot would have been their realistic target before the season started. “They finished last season just one point above the relegation zone, but I do think a play-off push will be the target next year. I expect there will be a decent summer of recruitment and I can definitely see them in the mix, especially since the play-offs now extend to eighth place. John Eustace deserves all the credit in the world.”
