Derby County are looking to bolster their squad this summer and the wide areas are a priority for the Rams after the departure of two key players. Dundee United have rejected a bid of £1m for Will Ferry amid links to Derby County and a host of clubs in England and Europe. Ferry's stock has risen considerably over the season and he is widely expected to leave the Scottish club this summer. United are chasing a seven-figure sum for the winger who has one year remaining on his contract with the club eager to cash in rather than lose him for nothing in 12 months' time. Ferry recently became a fully-fledged international after winning a senior cap with Ireland having made his debut in a 5-0 victory over Grenada last month. He came on as a substitute at half-time and showed flashes of quality with clubs such as Los Angeles FC, Blackburn, Charlton and Derby having all been linked. The Dundee Courier says that €1m bid from one of the unnamed clubs in Czechia and Slovakia was rejected with United's hopes of keeping the player looking slim. Derby are keen to bolster their wide positions this summer as a matter of priority with Jaydon Banel and Ben Brereton Diaz having left the club following the end of their loans. Corey Blackett-Taylor still remains at Derby and has another 12 months left on his contract, although having spent the second half of the season on loan at Bolton where he picked up an injury, his future at the club is far from certain. Ferry did help himself to an assist in Ireland's 5-0 win over Grenada and impressed manager Heimir Hallgrimsson. “Will Ferry was excellent coming in, he changed the tempo, he was one of those that went forward all the time, he was the quickest one back, that shows the desire, for me, to show everyone ‘I want to be here’,” Hallgrimsson said.
