Derby County will be without defender Eiran Cashin for six to seven weeks due to a calf injury. The 24-year-old centre-back, re-signed on loan from Brighton this season, suffered the setback in training last week and was absent from the squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw at Burnley.
Manager John Eustace delivered the news, describing the loss as a "huge blow". Cashin had made two Championship appearances since his return earlier this month. His absence leaves a significant gap in a defence that has already conceded 14 goals in eight league games, contributing to the Rams' position of 22nd in the Championship table with just five points.
Eustace said: "We've lost him now for six to seven weeks as well."
The injury compounds an existing list of absentees that includes Craig Forsyth, Derry Murkin and Jacob Widell Zetterström. Eustace must now reconfigure his backline ahead of the next Championship fixture, a home match against 14th-placed Wrexham on 10 October.
