Derby County fan Liam Biggs has a unique experience of watching England win the 1966 World Cup at Wembley. He paid just £4 for a ticket and witnessed Geoff Hurst's hat-trick. Biggs, a season ticket holder, was one of the 96,000 people at Wembley that day. He has attended over 1,500 Derby County matches but only seen England twice, with this being one of them. Biggs secured a set of tickets to attend eight matches, including the final, and has kept the ticket stubs and matchday programme from the day. He remembers the day vividly, including the tense match that finished two goals apiece after 90 minutes, and Geoff Hurst's controversial goal that sealed the win. Biggs and his friends waited around for a chance to meet the players outside the ground, but it was a low-key affair compared to today's celebrations. He and his friends went into London, had a few beers and a meal, and finished up in Trafalgar Square, where they saw vehicles with flags and other celebrations. Biggs plans to watch England's next World Cup attempt with his wife, fellow Derby season ticket holder Marilyn, on the sofa with a beer.
